
Dr. Shorrelle Kennedy, PhD
Psychology Associate
Shorrelle Kennedy is a psychology associate with over 20+ years of experience providing clinical services to adolescents and adults. Dr. Kennedy received her BS in psychology from Long Island University. She completed her MA at Long Island University in Behavioral Psychology, in Personality and Developmental Psychology, with an emphasis on Ethnicity and Family therapy. She completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology at The School of Social Change at Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Dr. Kennedy completed her APA-accredited doctoral internship at Hollis Psychiatric Hospital in Queens NY. She then worked as Director of Social Services at the New York City Port Authority, with adults and families that experience homelessness and various mental disorders. She then moved to Maryland where she worked for the John L. Gildner Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents (JLG-RICA) program. While at JLG-RICA, she specialized in working with high-risk youth placed in both the outpatient and inpatient programs. Additionally, she worked as the Assistant Clinical Director, at District Health Service in Washington DC, working with adults and families who experienced homelessness and dissimilar mental disorders.
Dr. Kennedy’s research project was entitled: Homelessness Status Among Female Veterans: Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Depression, and Hopelessness.
